In the winter of 1996, Michael Schneider's work was
Turkey. Six students each chose one print and described
it in their own words.
The six sketches and texts that resulted are included in
this book, in direct contrast to the artist's original works.
The Leporello fold allows to access front and back page,
thus removes this convention. The reader can skim through
the content and see aspects of both parts in the book.
Spuren des Gebrauchs contains two story lines that are
linear but follow different directions: Michael Schneider's
theoretical texts and his prints on the one hand, and the
student's descriptions and drawings on the other.
This book is an example of transformative reception that
combines book content and book form to an aesthetic unity.
